48 Hour Guerilla Film Challenge Starts in a Week -- Here's an Interview and Discount

The 2012 Guerilla Film Challenge (formerly the 48GFC) starts in a little more than a week -- May 18, 2012, to be exact -- and challenges indie filmmakers to write, direct, shoot, and edit a topical short film in 48 hours. There's a $5,000 grand prize and other goodies, and I've got a discount code for you below. I'm also one of the judges this year, along with Mitch from planet5D, and we just recorded a podcast with Nick and Clint (the duo behind the contest), wherein we talk about, what else, filmmaking:

If this widget doesn't work, you can listen on the GFC site or on iTunes.

To get a discount entry, use the links below.

NOTE: Despite mentioning this contest previously, I am not a part of the GFC team, nor do I stand to make any money off it or anything like that. I hope NFS will cover more and more similar opportunities going forward, but we just haven't had the bandwidth to date. If you're entering, good luck!

Link: 2012 Guerrilla Film Challenge -- use NFS Discount code "NOFILM2" (first 20 people get $50 off the entry fee). Once those are used up, the code NOFILM should get you 25% off.

HEy Koo can you make a online timer for us Europeans that will say from which point we will be able to start the "button" on the gfc page? I´m really confused by the date and don´t want to be disqulified because of being too late ^^

The time is based on you clicking start, so you should be able to log in anytime on the 18th and go for it! Good luck! It's going to be a blast!

I second this, what a great idea. Get one of your rad sponsors to donate some cool bit of gear as the grand prize. But your own twist on it, make a unique sandbox. I can see it being successful!

I haven't made any "serious" stuff since getting my T3i, so I can't wait to test my skills, camera, and overall competence next weekend. Good thing we have a surplus of good high school actors 'round these parts...

It will be a bumpy ride trying to figure out how to to shoot with at least 2 of us being on the screen :D

THIS COMPETITION IS A JOKE!!!

Global...Compete with pros...$5,000.

How about narrowing the field a little bit and making the grand prize actually worth fighting for.
