NAB Video: AbelCine Lens Doublers and the 4K Future

FreshDV gets the scoop as Mitch Gross shows off these new optical adapters, including adapters for B4 Mount lenses utilizing the new Universal Mount System. Watch the video below for details, and listen to discussion about the future of 4K imagery:

This is the first time I heard "lens doubler" in English, all I can say is that in German the word "doubler" ("Doppler") is commonly used for a 2x teleconverter.

This is very cool, however the x2 is priced (at around $5k) such that only someone with a large existing B4 lens collection would find it worthwhile.

They meant 3D in home use, didn't they? They couldn't have been including at theaters.
