With regard to John's request for a 4K camera...

- The cameras that John mentioned were all ENG style 4K cameras with long parfocal lenses, something that is pretty much impossible to obtain in a DSLR camera with a total budget of $5,000

- The Canon 5D Mk3 is a 1080 HD camera and will never shoot 4K footage

- The DVX200 is a good choice, but it's only popular because it's been out for about one year. The brand new Panasonic UX90 and UX180 4K ENG cameras are being released this month, and will very likely become as popular as the DVX200 over the next year.

This is simple - Sony A6300/A6500
It's the best image out there for under $1k.
It can overheat, but if used properly, it will give you the sharpest image around.

Did you say the 5dMk3 has 4K video? I don't think so...

Nice podcast!
Small correction: You got your Garth/Gareths wrong. Lion and Rogue one are not by the same director. Greig is a long time collaborater of Garth Davis (Lion), but it is his first time working with Gareth Edwards (Rogue One).

Thanks!
