Utilizing an innovative nitrogen piston mechanism, Manfrotto’s Nitrotech N8 video head is designed to offer precise counterbalance adjustments based on the specific weight of a camera system. Adjusting the counterbalance is as simple as turning the knob on the left side of the head.

As the name implies, the N8 can carry camera rigs weighing up to 8 kilograms (17.6 lbs), and you can attach a monitor or other piece of equipment to the 3/8" Easy Link Connector found on the side. The included camera mounting plate has a sliding design, offering the ability to fine-tune the balance of your rig.

Perhaps the best feature of the Nitrotech N8 is the simple fact that the controls are located on the left side of the head, which is ergonomically superior to other Manfrotto heads. You can also quickly check if you are level with a push-button illuminated bubble, perfect for camera operators working in dark environments.

In a year when Manfrotto just lost it’s founder, Lino Manfrotto, the company continues to innovate and provide high-quality, affordable products. With a plethora of features and a competitive price point, the Manfrotto Nitrotech N8 could be a perfect option for indie filmmakers.
