"48Z"- A Zombie themed short film for the Winter Film Awards 48 Hour Film Challenge (filmed on the GH4 and DJI OSMO)

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to share my latest work with all of you, our film submission to the Winter Film Awards 48 Hour Film Challenge here in NYC. The genre we got was ZOMBIE, the line was " This is New York and there are no laws against being annoying" The prop though wasn't a prop it was a location, Grand Central Station. Filmied entirely on the GH4 in V Log L with specials captured on the DJI OSMO in D LOG (with heavy post processing to match the V Log L footage.) If you like it it, lick the thumbs up button on the youtube page! and of course, feedback is appreciated! Thanks!

I think the cutting is pretty good, the fight/action scenes are also well done.

Two minor points:

- everything is handheld even for shots that easily could have been shot from a tripod.
- framing seems to have been done at 16:9 and was later cropped.

I think it is fine to crop to get a desired aspect ratio but when filming think about the framing with a crop in mind. Things are a bit too tight at places.

Thanks! Actually we filmed with the SLR MAGIC 1.33x ANAMORPHOT on the GH4 in 4k 16:9 mode. So it was all filmed in anamorphic. All the framing and composition you see is done on purpose, its my preferred filming style. The only crop is done on the DJI OSMO shots. to match the GH4. Personally, I don't like tripods, I find them cumbersome and in the way, we had one on set, but the speed at which we had to move, I didn't even look at it.

Well, there you go, I am all wrong about it! :)

And yes if tight framing is your style it is fine.

Thought you did a really good job with the osmo footage it looked good in central station. ive seen most of the osmo footage and it seems to have been fairly low quality compared to the GH4 so it was a really good mix there. to an extent i agree with the comment on the locked down shots to break up the tension in between some of the dialogue scenes but it didn't deter me from the story at all.

Thanks! Under less pressed circumstances, I might have considered doing a locked off shot in between there, but it just didn't happen for us. Glad you liked it.
