Critique my Short Film?

Hey, I'm a student filmmaker in Brazil.
2 weeks ago I shot a short film for the 'My RODE Reel' competition. I was the director of the Behind-The-Scenes and did a little of everything from the actual short.
I would like to hear comments about both (the short and the BTS) -
And, if you like it, vote for it! So we could maybe win the people's award and produce more shorts (that in Brazil, with equipament being twice the price, it's pretty pretty hard to be a filmmaker).
It's in portuguese, but, it got subtitles.

Thanks!
(Information about equipment is in the BTS!)

I think it okay, nice images, nice editing but I feel that the script has weakness. It's not really a story, I mean that it doesn't makes me want to know what will happen, I'm not surprised and I'm not moved.
It feels like it's made by a group of friends wanting to make a film so they try to find an idea to make it happen.
I think it must happen the other way around, like : "I have a story I want to share, is a film the best way to tell it?" and only if the answer is yes then go for it. The "I want to make a film, what could I tell" almost never makes a great film.
Next time have a storyteller in the team and with the good technical skills you showed, you will be able to make a really great film!

Thanks for the thoughts! Yeah, I think you're right in some ways, the 'story' is much more about form then about 'heart'-- the problem of film school sometimes is that you easily get caught in metalanguage! And you're absolutely right about the processes, the 'I want to make a film, what could I tell'.

Thanks for the input!

You might consider a small audience and have them fill out the evaluation form I created.
Does my film suck? Film Evaluation Form https://whatyougottoknow.com/2016/04/11/does-my-film-suck-film-evaluatio...

I couldn't get the link to work on my iPhone to watch your film.

I am a junior in high school and it's my third year taking video production at my school. I have made a short film at home called El Quinto Hijo (link below), and I would appreciate it if I got feedback on it.

Good production values but story is messed up. What are you trying to say to your audience? At first I though it was a commercial for Perirer because the name and color clearly stood out. Lesson learned here is never show a full front shot of a label. Even though it was in a different language the story should have been clearer which it wasn't. If it's a pilot for a mini series what is it with all the people coming into the apartment? Is it a cooking pilot? A film school project? Cuts were too short and quick. Some parts were hard to follow. Good luck with your future projects.
