Different Approaches to Short Project Docs.

I was recently involved in producing short project docs for two separate art projects, and I took two very separate approaches to each video.

For the first video, the project was a mind-controlled drinking game built by a fairly large team of people. I just put the people involved in the project in front of a camera and told them to talk about it, then tried to dig a story out of the mass of footage.

The second video was highly scripted and rehearsed, and designed to work around the inadequacies of the presenters to make us look smart.

Here is a link to me discussing the projects:

As an artist/photography, I am by no means a pro at this video stuff, but I found the process extremely thought provoking and educational, and I'd like to open up a discussion about approaches to story telling and film making, and hopefully learn a few more tricks so the next batch of videos will be even better. Editing is an area that still baffles me.
