RED VS Alexia VS Blackmagic VS Sony VS Panasonic

Fellows, which camera do you prefer?
what are the stronghold and the weakness of each one?

I'm not even sure where to begin because comparing manufacturers is a very broad stroke. There's just so much to consider even before you get into the technical specifications of each of the cameras available from these brands.

Price vs bang for your buck. Determine your budget, including all the accessories, then what you needs truly are.

Cameras that cost a fraction of others can look just as good in the right situation. Do you need to shoot REALLY slow motion or is 60fps good enough? Do you need to shoot a perfect image lit by a single candle...EVER? That can rule out a lot of cameras. A $5K camera with really great lenses can look just as good as $40k+ cameras. Do you really need 4K? Unless you're looking at footage side by side, many would be hard pressed to see a significant difference.

There are plenty of comparison videos on the web. Some have been linked here. Pick a price point and go from there.

This is a Pandora's box type of question. It's like asking what the best color or flavor of ice cream is (green and cookie dough, by the way).

I hated hearing this when just starting out-- but you really do need to work for a nominal amount of time on each system and find out yourself. Personally, I'm a huge RED fanboy. great menus, great image.
