USC Film School's ONLY Online Course "How to Direct Actors"

Want to learn "How to Direct Actors for the Screen?" Check out USC Film School's ONLY Master Class Online Course produced by George Lucas and Randal Kleiser!

I took this course & IT BLEW MY MIND! It's like you are in the classroom at USC...because you are! If you want to be a director or actor this is a must have. I had to share it with all of you. She worked with Stanley Kubrick and Robert Wise for God's Sake!

Here's some info:
This series of lectures are excerpts from Nina Foch’s directing class conducted at the University of Southern California. The lectures, organized into sections, cover script analysis, casting, directing, and acting. Spend some time watching Nina, learn from her and implement her ideas into your own work. You’ll be amazed how far she can take you.

Who can benefit from Nina Foch’s course? Directors? Absolutely. Actors? Yes. But, it’s equally valuable for writers, editors, producers, and anyone with more than a passing interest in the art and craft of filmmaking. This material can be used for an entire course, as part of a course, or a rich reference source to immerse yourself in your craft.

Man, you don't know how grateful I'm for recommending this. Thank you! Do you know more courses like this one (about acting)?

Thanks for sharing all this great content here! Loved the interview with Emily Best, and this looks interesting as well; I feel that directing actors is one of the nuances hardest to find good resources on in the indie filmmaking world.

It's for sure the hardest one to find a good resources. That's why I was so hyped when I checked that link. I also have Meisner's DVD, it's also a really really good one. Besides those 2 courses I don't know any worth recommending & I can recommend many videos on other subjects related to filmmaking.

Exactly! I think it's much easier for people figuring this stuff out on their own to delve into the binary, "this is how it is done" technical aspects.

Recently I've gotten a lot out of David Corbett's book 'The Art of Character.' It is about writing characters, but I think the insight into how characters work is applicable to direction as well. I hate the feeling when an actor asks a question about their character and I don't understand the character well enough to give an honest answer.

This course is great. I'd check out Judith Weston's books if you want to dive in a bit more too.

Are you serious? It's only 66$...For such a quality video it's a very good price.

This is really great! Can anyone recommend something similar for techniques with unscripted doc interviews?
