Besides announcing that <a title="Adobe Ends Creative Suite, New Software Versions Will Only Be Available Through Creative Cloud" href="http://nofilmschool.com/2013/05/adobe-ends-creative-suite-new-versions-creative-cloud/">they were ending Creative Suite and making it a Creative Cloud-only option</a>, they also talked about a few hardware projects they&#8217;ve been working on: Mighty, a new cloud-connected pen stylus, and Napoleon, a ruler &#8212; both made specifically for mobile devices. While the hardware itself may not be all that innovative, the way it interacts with the devices takes mobile creations to a whole different level. Check out the introduction video below from Michael Gough, Adobe&#8217;s VP of Product Experience: <a href="http://nofilmschool.com/2013/05/adobe-hardware-project-mighty-napoleon-context/#more-53255" class="more-link">(more&#8230;)</a></p>

We know the <a href="http://nofilmschool.com/2013/01/late-2012-imac-beats-mac-pro-benchmark-bare-feats/">Mac Pro hasn&#8217;t had a substantial upgrade</a> in <a href="http://nofilmschool.com/2012/06/mac-pro-update-major-features-missing/">some time</a>. We know that <em><a href="http://nofilmschool.com/2012/06/apple-unveil-mac-pro-wwdc-rumored-specs/">something</a></em> is looming over the horizon, <a href="http://nofilmschool.com/2012/10/next-mac-pro-predicting-apples-pro-future/">but we don&#8217;t know what</a>, exactly. <a href="http://nofilmschool.com/2013/01/apple-monitor-27-inch-display-monoprice/">We also know</a> that <a href="http://nofilmschool.com/2013/01/high-apple-prices/">Apple will probably over-charge us</a> for it (or it wouldn&#8217;t quite feel right for anybody). And while it may not be fair to fault a machine that&#8217;s still quite hefty and robust for losing to brand new ones in spec tests and benchmark performance &#8212; just what are we waiting for here? <em>Should </em>we even be waiting for it at all? How much incentive to hold out for Apple remains when you can <a href="http://nofilmschool.com/build-a-hackintosh/">build your own Mac Pro</a>, build your own <a href="http://nofilmschool.com/2013/01/dslr-raw-video-editing-computer-build-dave-dugdale/">specialized editing PC</a> &#8212; or, for instance, as a recent StudioDaily feature shows many video editors are doing &#8212; switch to powerhouse Dell solutions? <a href="http://nofilmschool.com/2013/01/editors-choose-dell-over-apple-mac-pro/#more-41328" class="more-link">(more&#8230;)</a></p>

Of course, achieving this consistency can be a double-edged sword &#8212; the very measures that guarantee the quality you&#8217;ve come to know and respect of Apple computing are the same tendencies that see them labeled as &#8220;notoriously controlling.&#8221; This too goes for the staunchly unwavering prices of Apple products across the marketplace &#8212; that double-edged sword extends all the way out to how such pricing is so firmly set. And, in terms of sword metaphors, this is more often <a href="http://nofilmschool.com/2013/01/apple-monitor-27-inch-display-monoprice/">the kind that cuts a hole in your pocket</a> than the kind that &#8220;slashes prices.&#8221; <a href="http://nofilmschool.com/2013/01/high-apple-prices/#more-39988" class="more-link">(more&#8230;)</a></p>
