I am a perfectionist with an eye for detail, nothing gets past me on screen without my approval and everything I light and compose is clean and precise. Cinematography is an art form, like painting a picture and literally bringing it to life. I have always been interested in art which led me to moving image, the ability to manipulate the mood of a scene and play with the audience’s emotions. Cinematography is also a science; one must have a good understanding of the laws of physics to produce creative lighting set ups that will complement the scene. The other side of cinematography I have also been interested in is the technical side and the evolution of digital technology that has revolutionised filmmaking. Over the years I have dedicated most of my time to learning about lighting and camera equipment, how they work and what their limitations are. I use this knowledge to take advantage of the technology I have at my disposal to best present my art on screen.
