We've been talking a lot about Vine lately, and even Instagram's new video feature. So many new filmmakers were born when the opportunity to make films evolved right into their already-texting fingertips. As of right now, we have the hardware (smartphones,) we have the software (video-recording/editing apps,) all we need is something that will make it all look -- smooth. Enter Shoulderpod's Mobbo and Handdo, a stabilization combination that may take your smartphone filmmaking to the next level.

A small Barcelona-based Product Design studio, Tambakunda, took 1 year to develop their own brand that caters to smartphone photographers and filmmakers, Shoulderpod. The first items they've developed: the Mobbo and Handdo -- two separate pieces that perform many important and useful tasks independent of each other, but once together, give the smartphone filmmaker an instant camera stabilizer. Check out the video below to see what the Mobbo and Handdo can do.

The Mobbo

It performs several tasks on its own -- it's a tripod holder, desk stand, camera grip, and traveler stand. It fits almost every model of smartphone (extends to about 1.8" to 3.5"), with or without a case, and because of its pressure screw and rubber pads, you don't have to worry about your phone slipping out while you're in "extreme conditions." It also has a 1/4-20 tripod thread, so you can screw the Mobbo onto a tripod.

The Handdo

This is slightly less versatile as the Mobbo, but it still serves a vital purpose: it's a handle -- and it can be used either in combination with the Mobbo or screwed into the bottom of your DSLR camera (The handle is relatively small and using it with anything large and heavy just wouldn't be practical.)

Using these 2 units together gives your smartphone a snug holder on which to put a handle, allowing for more stability when you're out there making Vines, Instagram videos, or taking selfies shamelessly in traffic.

Shoulderpod has launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise enough money to move into production. The way they've set up their perks is simple: your contribution is essentially a pre-order of the item(s) you'd like. If Shoulderpod meets its goal, you're sent the item you paid for. And if they don't reach its goal, you're not charged. Each single unit costs $37.76 (€29), and the combo costs $50.77 (€39).

I don't make a whole bunch of videos on my phone anymore, but when I did, I really could've used the Mobbo and Handdo. 5 hours on a bumpy train, road trips, and tracking shots on a skateboard would've been so much more beautiful and less vomit inducing had I used these things.

What do you think about the Mobbo and Handdo? Do you use any stabilization rig for your smartphone?
