NewMedia_Blog1If you've been hard at working creating an interactive documentary experience meant to be viewed across multiple platforms, now is your chance to catapult your project forward: the application for the Tribeca Film Institute New Media Fund is open. The TFI is looking to fund between four and eight projects from any country that feature non-fiction stories with integrated cross-platforms and a social justice angle. If this fits your description, check out the details below, and apply!

Not only does the New Media Fund include a massive payout to further develop your project, it also includes all the mentorship the Tribeca Film Institute has to offer. Here is the description of the New Media Fund call-for-work from TFI:

The TFI New Media Fund provides funding and support to non-fiction, social issue media projects which go beyond traditional screens – integrating film with content across media platforms, from video games and mobile apps to social networks and interactive websites. We’re looking for projects that activate audiences around issues of contemporary social justice and equality around the world and demonstrate the power of cross-platform storytelling and dynamic audience engagement.

And if you're still wondering what the TFI New Media Fund is about -- and who is behind it -- check out Ingrid Kopp, Director of Digital Initiatives for TFI:

Last year there were six projects selected from 285 submissions, which is tough competition, but not as insane as other high-profile film grants. To submit, you can have a project between a short and feature-length, but it must be at least in the advanced development stage and have something to show, from plans to prototypes. Almost there? The deadline to apply for the TFI New Media Fund is May 5, 2014. Visit the New Media Fund application page to see past projects and find out all the other necessary details to apply this year!

Do you have an interactive project that might work for this call? Would you consider adapting a story to be told across multiple platforms in the future as the technology and demand for it grows?
