CreativeLive is one of my absolute favorite educational websites. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the site, it offers educational video workshops in a variety of creative disciplines - everything from photography and filmmaking to audio production and business tips for creatives. Like most websites of this nature, the content can be purchased and viewed on your own schedule. But the thing that sets CreativeLive apart from its competitors is the fact that all of their courses play live (and for free) before they end up in the archives. So if you're free this coming Monday through Wednesday (June 23-25). you can watch Larry Jordan teach a three-day masterclass in FCPX without spending a dime!

First off, before we get to Larry Jordan's course, here's a quick promotional video for CreativeLive that should get you stoked to participate in their workshops:

And here's the promotional video for Larry Jordan's course, which is entitled Final Cut Pro X: In-Depth and Up-to-Date:

The course itself is divided into 3 sessions, one for each day of the course. If you're interested in tuning in for just one specific topic, here's what Jordan will be teaching throughout the duration of the course.

Session 1

  • Foundation: FCPX Fundamentals
  • Media Management
  • Importing Media
  • Review & Categorizing Media

Session 2

  • Editing Your Project
  • Organizing Your Timeline
  • Multicam Editing
  • Trimming Your Project

Session 3

  • Audio
  • Transitions & Titles
  • Effects
  • Sharing & Exporting

If you want to watch, head on over to CreativeLive and get signed up. There's no obligation to participate in the class as it's happening live, but if you don't watch the videos while the material is live, you'll have to actually buy the course later to view any of the videos.

The course runs from June 23rd to June 25th, and from 9:00am to 4:00pm Pacific Time during those three days.

So what are you waiting for No Film Schoolers? Go get some free FCPX training from one of the best post-production educators in the industry!
