One crafty stock media company managed to beautifully recreate a few of those styles using nothing but their own stock footage and music. The results are fantastic and extremely fun to watch.

Shutterstock, one of the internet's largest sources of stock media of all types, recently put together the above video as a tribute to the distinct and lovable visual styles of Wes Anderson, David Fincher, Quentin Tarantino, Alfonso Cuarón, and best of all, Terrence Malick, whose segment even features a wonderfully Malick-esque voiceover contemplating how humans fit into the natural landscape.

Of course, the video is really just an advertisement for Shutterstock, but it serves as nice reminder that developing a unique and engaging visual style is one of the most important things that we can do as filmmakers to differentiate ourselves from the pack. Hell, maybe some of us will be successful enough one day to be parodied by a stock footage company. Probably not, but a dude can dream.
