The Vario 5 is capable of carrying cameras weighted between 11 and 38 pounds, which is no small feat considering the way the Easyrig is designed. Our very own David Plummer caught up with Johan Hellsten, the founder of Easyrig, to learn more about the Vario 5. Also, this is easily one of our more entertaining NAB interviews, so stick around to the end. You won't be disappointed.

Here are the basic specs on the Vario 5.
- Weights:
- 2,5 vest and adjustable arm: 4.7 kg (9 lbs)
- Cinema 3 vest and adjustable arm: 5.2 kg (11 lbs)
- Gimbal vest and adjustable arm: 5.5 kg (12 lbs)
- Heights:
- Mounted: 97 - 114 cm (38 - 45 in)
- Folded: 60 cm (24 in)
- Suspension line length: 90 cm (35 in) when fully stretched.
- Load range: 5-17 kg (11 - 38 lbs)
- Hip belt sizes: Small, Standard and Large
It's not clear yet how much the Easyrig Vario 5 will cost, but it likely won't come cheap, as the other Easyrig models for heavier cameras routinely come in above the $3000 mark. We'll keep you updated as we learn more.
