The Hunger Games series has finally come to an end, and in this latest installment of Michael Coleman's terrific SoundWorks Collection videos, we get a great rundown of some key sequences and the overall vibe that the sound team was going for in post:

In this exclusive SoundWorks Collection sound profile we feature the sound and picture team behind The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 including Supervising Sound Editor, Sound Re-recording Mixer and Sound Designer Jeremy Peirson, Sound Re-recording Mixer Skip Lievsay and Film Editor Alan Bell.

There's always something to learn from these videos, and I think one of the best moments is the description of the sounds of the toxic oil. Though it seems waterlike, by using a combination of fire and mud sounds in addition to water, it takes on a far more sinister feeling. We're all familiar and sometimes even comforted by the sounds of water, so adding these little hints gives the toxic oil that much more of an edge.
