Alx Klive explains why it took two years to find the right cameras (the Blackmagic Micro Cinema & Micro Studio Camera) for his 360 degree video applications, as seen at events like this year's Oscars. The 360 Designs J-box distributes Genlock and power to each Blackmagic camera, while an iOS app gives you the ability to control all of the cameras at once. A 3-camera Mini EYE system gives you fully spherical 360° video for under $10,000.
Directors-producers The Diamond Brothers worked with 360 Designs to create a four camera version for their company Supersphere VR, putting it to use at New York fashion week. The common denominator between all of these applications is the Blackmagic Micro line, which differentiates itself from the field of action cameras by adding codecs and controls, thanks to a breakout cable that comes in the box.
