Back in January, Nikon announced it was throwing its hat into the action cam ring with the KeyMission 360, a tiny 4K GoPro-style shooter that features dual wide angle cameras on the front and back. Well, they've just unveiled not one, not two, but three action cams in their KeyMission line, the 360, 170, and 80.

KeyMission 360

The KeyMission 360 is a dual-lens action cam that captures two 180-degree images simultaneously in Ultra HD 4K at 24 fps. It then stitches the images together internally to provide a 360-degree spherical VR image. The action cam is clearly ideal for VR filmmakers and extreme sports enthusiasts who want to get in on YouTube's curation of 360 VR content. Aside from VR, the KeyMission 360 is waterproof at up to 100' without housing, features built-in vibration reduction and Nikon Nikkor lenses with 7 lens elements in 7 groups. The price is set at $500 and should begin shipping in October.

KeyMission 170

The KeyMission 170 is more like a standard GoPro than the others in the series. With a 170-degree angle of view, this action cam can capture Ultra HD 4K at 25/30 fps. Resolution is still pretty good when you get into slow motion territory with 1080p at 120 fps. Just like the new HERO5, the KeyMission 170 is waterproof at up to 33' without any extra housing. It features a Nikon Nikkor lens and internal electronic vibration reduction (image stabilization). This action cam costs $400 and begins shipping on October 26th.

The KeyMission 80 is designed more for hobbyists than for professional filmmakers/videographers. It captures 1080p video at 30 fps with an angle of view of 80-degrees. Aside from that, it features many of the same specs as the 360 and 170, like waterproofing at up to 3.3' without housing, built-in vibration reduction, and Nikon Nikkor lens. It costs $276 and begins shipping along with the 170 on October 26th.
