We ran into renowned cinematographer Shane Hurlbut (Terminator Salvation, Drumline) in the halls of NAB and asked him how he felt about this year's edition of the broadcaster's convention. While he agreed that there were no major announcements this year, he saw it as a banner year for art over science.
The vendor's apparent focus on full frame lenses and lighting tools will open up whole new worlds for DP's everywhere and gave Hurlbut reason to suggest that in some ways, this was one of the best NABs yet.
