If you're an aspiring screenwriter, you need to know about what ScreenCraft has been cooking up for you. For the fifth straight year, the ScreenCraft Screenwriting Fellowship is looking for talented emerging screenwriters to take part in their annual fellowship program, which not only offers mentorship opportunities but a trip to Los Angeles for meetings with and introductions to key entertainment executives, producers and representatives. 

According to ScreenCraft co-founder John Rhodes, every single winner from last year have signed with managers. In fact, one of their past winners not only sold a script, but has been hired as a staff writer on a Netflix TV show. So, people, this is the real deal. Rhodes goes on to say:

Prizes

Up to four screenwriters will be chosen for the fellowship. Prizes include:

  • All-expenses-paid trip to Los Angeles for industry introductions, meetings and mentorship (accommodations at the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel)
  • Hollywood meetings with literary agents and managers, award-winning screenwriters, mentor meetings with studio execs from 5 studios (Universal, Fox, Sony, Lionsgate, and Warner Bros.), and mentorship with Lawrence Grey.
  • Three months of one-on-one consultation and creative development with the ScreenCraft team and network of entertainment industry mentors
  • Free passes to Robert McKee’s STORY seminar in either Los Angeles, New York City, or London ($865 value)

Nitty Gritty

Here are a few key rules you should know about, but be sure to read the full list before entering.

  • Anyone from anywhere in the world can enter, but must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have earned less than $50K from professional writing services for film or TV
  • No limit on number of entries you can submit
  • Entry fee: $49 (early deadline on November 11th, $69 (regular deadline on January 31st), and $79 (final deadline on March 1st)
  • Feature screenplays must be between 75 and 140 pages.
  • Comedy TV pilot scripts should be between 25 and 40 pages. Drama TV pilot scripts should be between 45 and 65 pages.
  • Deadline: March 1st, 2018
