Watch: Orson Welles's Final Film is Finally Getting Released
The 'Citizen Kane' director and star posthumously sees his final work receive a proper release.
Persistence pays off! Long thought an unfortunate film maudit, Orson Welles's final feature, The Other Side of the Wind, has long been the stuff of legend. Shot almost a half-a-century ago, Welles's film about the making of a film went through terrible legal troubles that eventually left it unfinished and unreleasable. As a result, no one has been able to view the final work of the master behind Citizen Kane, The Magnificent Ambersons, and Touch of Evil, that is, until now.

Debuting at the currently-in-progress Venice Film Festival (before landing stateside at the New York Film Festival accompanied by a documentary by Morgan Neville about its making) The Other Side of the Wind will conclude its festival run with a day-and-date release in theaters and streaming on Netflix on Friday, November 2nd.
Starring John Huston as a filmmaker in over his head (and potentially loving it) and Peter Bogdanovich (a great friend and biographer of Welles), the film looks trippy and tumultuous, a definite must watch for fans of Welles and cinephiles enthused with seeing the final work of one of America's greatest filmmakers.
