Watch: Terrence Malick Shoots on the Brand New Google Pixel 3

Attention all smartphone enthusiasts: Google has just unveiled its latest addition to its smartphone line-up with the https://store.google.com/us/product/pixel_3Google Pixel 3. Announced as "a new way to see the world," the phone provides a battery that lasts all day, free, unlimited online storage for your photos, the helpful Google Assistant, and more. The Pixel 3 is now available for pre-order for $799. The announcement was made yesterday afternoon.

And while that's all well and good, No Film School readers are probably most interested in the power of the smartphone's camera. Just how crisp and radiant is its image quality? While Google could have gone the safe route and provided images of employee home movies and eye-rolling selfies as pertinent examples, the company has decided to enlist the services of one of the world's most prominent image-makers: Terrence Malick. 

As seen above, the video was undoubtedly shot by the man behind some of the most iconic films of the past 50 years. Strong vibes echoing The Tree of Life, specifically, feel apparent here—that praying mantis!—and a quick view of what appears to be the infamous bats flying past Congress Avenue Bridge in Austin, Texas (the filmmaker's city  of residence) hearken even further to the Lone Star state's presence here and in Malick's earlier works.

A voiceover provided by a child, here recalling a story about a tiny frog, is also a Malick favorite.
