Canon's venture into full-frame cinema cameras has arrived with the C700 FF. The C700 FF takes advantages of the C700 features and adds an updated CMOS sensor with a 38.1x20.1mm active area that covers a 43.1mm image circle.

To create the 4K recordings, the C700 FF oversamples 5.9K (5952x3140px) to produce sharper, more robust images. Like the C700, it uses three DIGIC DV 5 processors for its imagine engine.

Besides the full-size readout that creates a 17:9 aspect ratio, Super 35mm, Super 16mm and anamorphic is supported. If you don't have full-frame lenses, you can use Super 35mm lenses for 4K DCI/4K UHD content and Super 16mm lenses for 2K/HD via lens adapter.

It can record 5.9K RAW externally to a Codex recorder and internal 4K DCI 422 10-bit via XF-AVC or ProRes. Canon included its Dual Pixel CMOS AF (DAF) and Dual Pixel Focus Guide technology, HDR support, an improved ND filter system and anamorphic lens support. The C700 FF is available in EF or PL mounts with PL supporting Cooke's metadata.
