If you're shooting on a Micro Four-Thirds system, like a BMPCC 4K, Panasonic GH6, or Z CAM E2, you're most likely adapting lenses. The beauty of the MFT mount is its compatibility with practically any non-mirrorless camera lens. However, using an adapter can create a host of problems, like lens wiggle and issues with achieving infinity focus.

So, why not use the native mount? Here are three brands with some amazing choices. There's even an anamorphic option

35mm f/1.8
$599

This Sirui 35mm f/1.8 lens comes with a 1.33x anamorphic squeeze factor and an MFT mount. Designed to cover MFT and APS-C cameras, it increases the horizontal FOV by 33% in comparison with traditional 35mm APS-C lenses. After de-squeezing, the captured image is displayed in an anamorphic 2.4:1 format when shooting a 16:9 aspect ratio.

One of the features of this lens is that it produces horizontal blue streaks with less stray light, which Sirui calls sci-fi horizontal flares. A key aspect of anamorphic lenses is highlighted oval bokeh, and this lens produces a shallow depth of field and oval bokeh with its 10 aperture blades. While the lens has a robust housing, it's also designed to be lightweight for use with your compact MFT/APS-C camera.

If you're shooting on an MFT system, having this anamorphic lens is a must. Not only is it affordable, but it adds character to your image that no other lens in this price range can do.

This lens set pairs a 25mm and 50mm prime with a Micro Four Thirds lens mount. Each lens offers a blazing fast T/0.95 aperture, making them well suited to low-light filming and for capturing images with a shallow depth of field. Designed to support a cine-style workflow, the lenses feature a clickless iris for smooth iris pulls and cine-standard geared focus and aperture rings.

Both lenses are compact and perfect for gimbal or drone work. However, with their incredible aperture, we do recommend you get an ND filter. Unless you're shooting in the dark. For the speed alone, having a pair of these lenses can be a lifesaver in difficult lighting conditions.

Voigtlander is a company that doesn't make a lot of waves. But it does make some pretty interesting lenses for Leica and Nikon. Its MFT line of lenses is equally as fast as the SLR Magic but utilizes a Selective Aperture Control System, which permits switching between a stepless, de-clicked aperture selection method or a traditional aperture control method with click stops. When set to the stepless setting, silent and smooth exposure adjustments can be made that are especially beneficial when recording video.

The optical construction incorporates ultra-high refractive glass, which helps to minimize chromatic aberrations and produce imagery with notable clarity and sharpness. Ten aperture blades form a nearly circular diaphragm to produce an aesthetically out-of-focus quality that is especially noticeable when using selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques.

Do you shoot on an MFT system? Which of these lenses would you like in your kit? Let us know in the comments!
