Leaked Image from ‘Bond 25’ Reveals Movie Being Shot on IMAX 70mm Film
On set photo from the new ‘Bond 25’ confirms director Cary Fukunaga is shooting on IMAX 70mm film.
While still slated a year away for an early 2020 release, first-time Bond director Cary Fukunaga has been in production on the 25th iteration of the James Bond film series with an all-star cast including Daniel Craig, Rami Malek and Ralph Fiennes.
Now, thanks to a leaked photo found on Twitter (via @ImAFilmEditor), we have visual confirmation that (at least some part of) Bond 25 will be shot on IMAX 70mm film.

However, as many Reddit users have pointed out, this might not mean that the entire film is being shot on 70mm, rather just certain expansive exteriors or specific sequences. Or, it’s always possible that the image came from the part of production from when Danny Boyle was at the helm before bowing out last August due to creative differences.
Whatever the case, Fukunaga (best known for Beast of No Nation, True Detective and Netflix’s Maniac) is well known for his penchant for shooting on film. It wouldn't be much of a surprise for him to shoot Bond 25 on film, but the possibility of it being shot entirely on IMAX 70mm would certainly be quite impressive for a Freshman Bond director.
