Since first images of the new Leica Q2 were leaked last month (read our original write-up here), the long-anticipated follow up to the original Leica Q has been an intriguing offering for filmmakers and videographers to consider once official specs were released.

It looks like we have all of our answers now though. The Leica Q2 is officially released and ready to purchase (pre-order only right now). While similar in look and design to the original, the Leica Q2 looks to hit all the marks for the current digital video camera market (47.3MP sensor and 4K video).

It also includes a highly requested weather-sealing construction update which, when combined with the manufacturer’s excellent image reputation, can make the Leica Q2 a top-end contender (but, a bit on the pricey side) for a go-to multi-purpose camera.

Introducing the Leica Q2
