Acual Film School?

While I know this isn't an industry that you need to go for college for, but I was interesting in seeing if anyone else is or has been through some sort of film school program?

I'm a senior graduating with Film at the University of New Orleans, and I've honestly loved it here. I honestly don't think I've learned anything until I actually go shoot something. Looking back at my projects from the past 4 years, there's definitely a lot of improvement.

I have friends who have dropped out to go straight to work, but none of them have done anything that I haven't done while also in film school. While I think most of the learning comes from experience, you can't beat the knowledge from a qualified professor.

What do you guys think?

I think hands-on learning is best. Film school for me (Univ. of Utah) was a one-year exposure that got me moving and solidified my calling. This is an industry where a lot of motivation, a true passion for the craft, and a thick skin and persistence are key, and those are unteachable in a classroom.
