Amazon Video Direct - Inquiry

Hello everyone, I'm releasing an indie film via Amazon Video Direct (trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GW1KElZKWg&t=00s ) and am curious if any of you have before as well. There are some reservations I have, but I also feel very comfortable about certain aspects of the service. I know this is a very general inquiry, but I would love to hear what you all have to say - from behind the scenes to the statistics to actually using it - any and every opinion/fact you have, I am all ears!

Pfft. You're asking for a lot. I haven't used their services, but I've done some distro research for my own sanity and planning. So my question to you is: is releasing on AVD your distro plan?

I'm working on a film this year and research distros available now (knowing things will change before I can release). While AVD was part of my release plan... it's the tail end of it. I'm curious if you have more of a release plan and/or is AVD your starting point?

We started it in college as a thesis film, so distribution wasn't entirely on the mind when we did start it - bigtime learning experience for us all on this team. We had tried to find other distribution companies, but felt this was the best fit for us financially at the time.

Would you be willing to send me a sample/copy of your distro plan? I would love to learn more about that process and getting an idea of how to proceed with those. I appreciate your insight!

We're planning on releasing our feature film Incident at Montauk on there this November as well as DVD. Unfortunately, Amazon Video Direct has recently changed their royalty rates for filmmakers, which is not good. We had seen that earlier on - bigtime bummer to see them pull that.
