Best Film Editing PC Under 5k

For 5K I would definitely opt for a X99 chipset.

Go with x99 for sure. you want a 6 core or better for video editing. 5820k or 5960x should be cheaper now that the 6800k and the 6900k are out. if you want to go crazy get the 6950x it has 10 cores! I'd say a 5820k or a 6800k should do it though. Both should be comparable in speed. Also I reccommend overclocking. I overclock the 5820k every day and have been running it for about 2 years with no problems, gives large performance boost as they clock these enthusiast cpu's kinda low. For video card you could get away with a gtx 1080 probably, but titan black should be really nice! Also DEFINITELY get 64gb ram don't skimp on ram video uses it. Also like someone else said 2 monitors are better than one! Or get an ultra-wide Monitor those are great. If you are doing any color correction make sure it has full srgb coverage if your editing for web, and more if you are editing for professional formats .
