Does anybody have experience with mobile app commercials?

I am looking to get some shots for an upcoming project and I was looking for the best ways to do this. I need to film an iPhone to show different usages and interfaces of an app. I'm not sure the best way to do this (film the phones screen with the app up, use a green screen app and plug in the screens with after effects, etc.)...

If anybody has any experience with this, I would love to hear about best techniques and practices.

I would think the simplest would be to just film the screen of the phone. You can lock off the camera and the iPhone and get the angle set up right so there’s no glare. I’ve seen this setup work well in the past, though I can’t seem to remember what app was being demoed in the video I’m thinking of.

As long as you can demo the app in a way that your fingers can just do quick taps and don’t have to be covering the screen the whole time, I think it would work well.

I appreciate the response back. I figured the best way to do so would be filming the screen with the actual app in use.

Thank you for the input!
