Does a producer need a demo reel?

I imagine it cannot hurt to have a demo reel if you are exclusively a producer, but in what scenario is someone going to really pay attention to a demo reel by a producer or someone looking to break into production related work? It's hard for me to think what can a producer showcase in a demo reel, since the final product is entirely creative. It is very clear why a DOP, editor, VFX artist, makeup, etc. would have a demo reel.

Yes, always you must have a demo reel. Worth more than a curriculum.

Well if everything you produce look like a unpolished turd then someone could actually say that you didn't do your job very well.

Alot of time you can see the production values in a movie and that is of course your doing... Even though you don't technically work with those things of value.

A demo reel as a Producer is totally unnecessary and can actually hurt you as it may seem like you have no idea what your job really is.

To me, it's kinda like an AC having a demo reel - completely superfluous and tells me nothing about whether they are any good.

You need a good resume and good referees. Your effectiveness as a Producer will be what gets you work, not a demo reel.
