How to report bugs and request features

1. Search. Whether you're reporting a bug or requesting a feature, see if it already exists on the boards.

2. If someone else has already reported/requested it, add your voice to the existing thread instead of starting a new one. This includes UPVOTING. We will gauge how widespread a bug is, or how desired a new feature is, by the upvoting activity!

3. If a search doesn't produce an existing thread, start a new one!

Hey Ryan, good tips. Would you prefer feature request threads to be started as discussions or questions?

Update: because of the inherent difference in conversation between questions and discussions currently (link below) I'm going to stick feature requests in discussions.

Whoops, I see this now. Cussin good site Ryan. Could we have the Boards divided into topics? Like Gear, Screenwriting, DIY and so forth?

They are divided into topics! We probably just need to make the Boards homepage more obvious about this. When you are on the Boards homepage, scroll down on the right and you'll see the list of topics (that was supposed to be at the top, I'm not sure why it got pushed down so far).

I'm not used to this thread part of the website yet, but I have noticed that whenever I get a reply on a question I have I have to search for it by going back to the question I posted.
Is there a notification anywhere to let me know if I got a reply? If not, could you add one?

Why not just start one thread called "Requested Features", pin it to the top and let people go to town. You'll obviously have some repeats but that would be a good thing. What a pain to have to go looking and searching through the forum to find out what someone already has or hasn't posted. Seems like this would be easiest for you too since all the suggestions would be in one consolidated place.

Why not use forum like board where you can plugin videos, images, quote and reply to other members? Moreover editing messages and ability to see how many people viewed the thread is a must have feature. Sometimes the replies don't show up until the second message is posted. All the time I have to scan through all the thread to find out if there any replies ...may be I'am missing the point, but so far it is little bit uncomfortable.

There have been a few threads where I know there are more than one comment that has been made ( you can see the total number in the header for the comments ), but these additional comments are NOT being displayed, so it makes it very difficult to hold a conversation when you have no idea what people are posting. Here's an example thread, where I know that two comments have been made, but only the first comment is being displayed...

It would be great if this could be fixed.

Thanks.
