Old vintage lens on a GH4 ?

Hello everyone !

I've got a panasonic GH4 with a 12-40mm 2.8 olympus lens and i'am thinking of buying old quality lenses instead of spending lots of money on new ones. What do yo guys use ? Should i go FD or Nikkor ?
I won't buy the metabones speedbooster yet as i want to experiment first, for cheap. I am thinking of buying a 50mm and 85mm lens.

I started with Canon FD lenses ( which are quite nice ) but switched over to Nikon AI-S lenses because it was easier to find a full set of used Nikon lenses than a set of FD lenses. In terms of film-making both brands are very nice on the GH4, especially with a SpeedBooster adapter to make them appear wider and 1 F-stop faster.

I use Nikon AI - S lenses myself, I have the 28mm 2.8 and 50mm 1.2, and I love them.
Here´s a trailer for my last short film where most of the shots where done on those lenses:

The Super Takummar lenses also look brilliant on DSLRs. I shot my first docu short with them and it looked really nice - https://vimeo.com/86689309

They're cheap as well at $100 a lens.

M42 lenses are fantastic. Super cheap and have loads of character, as well as decent sharpness (although it's possible to get crappy one's...)

I have a Helios 44M 58mm f/2.0 (only £20) and love it. Although the equivalent focal length on the GH4 would be ~116mm.

There are some quality Carl Zeiss M42 lenses too, although they come at a bit of a premium; can be around £150 for some of them.

I use a Nikon Speedbooster on my GH4, and I love it. I've only been using modern lenses but I do have a couple of vintage lenses that I've thrown on there. They look good! Here's some of my work with (modern) Nikon lenses.
