Retirement Home (2017) Now Available on Prime! Q&A with director Fernando Lino

So, I made this film mostly by myself: directed, edited, produced and shot it. The soundtrack was done by a incredible composer called Pedro Gaspar and the sound mix by Branko Neskov. It took me 7 years to make it.

It was shot precisely on the six months with the highest unemployment rates in the country (averaging 18%) since the end of the dictatorship in Portugal, in 1974. That hovers by the film, but isn't at the centre of it. The film is a portrait of old age in Portugal. Old age anywhere, really.

I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have about the film. I hope you have a good time watching it!
