Thoughts on Fusion 7 and Blackmagic Design
Hi guys, I was reading about Blackmagic's Fusion release and there was an interesting discussion there, but I wanted to take things in a slightly different direction.
Basically, my notion is that - and this is one I'm sure they're at least considering - Blackmagic should integrate Fusion with Resolve.
I love Resolve as a colourist. Resolve has a respected pedigree. You say you're grading in Resolve and it put's a client's, DoP's or producer's mind at ease. Now they're pushing Resolve as an online editor, which is great, but it's nothing close to Smoke for things like titling, VFX and so on, though OpenFX plugins are helping.
If you made Fusion a Resolve add on, it would maintain the purity of Resolve as a great grading app, whilst making it a really good all-rounder for an online editor too if it needs to be, much in the same way Symphony being part of Avid MC works.
What are people's thoughts on this?
