Using a Focal Length Doubler like a Speedbooster

It seems like speed boosters are all the rage right now for their ability to turn, say the GH4 into a camera with a super 35 sensor, effectively. Could I use a focal length doubler to achieve the opposite effect? Turn a camera with a super 35 sensor into a super 16 camera?

The GH4 already has ETC mode which gives you 2.6x magnification with no loss of detail when shooting in 1080 HD formats.

No need for a teleconverter unless you want to shoot in 4K, which ETC doesn't work.

Yes, I already do this with some C mount lenses which are too small to cover the sensor of my Panasonic GH1. But if you've got ETC mode (like the GH2 has, but not the GH1) then that will work out even better.
