Anybody using NEX APS-C lenses for A7s for video?

Particularly SEL1650 or SEL1855?
I love how they are so compact, esp 16-50 with it's power zoom.
But heard that the quality of the image is really bad esp with barrel distortion.

I do. The Sony 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Power Zoom. The Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization really helps. Even hand-held. I think it's GOOD for outdoors. Really nice range: 27-300mm equivalent in 35mm. I originally got it with the EA-50
I shot this hand-held, run&gun with the A7s-18-200 combo:

It can deliver NICE images in the right hands:

Here´s a comparison with the FE 28-135mm f4

Im not planning on selling this lens. I like it for outdoors. Hope this helps!

I shoot this hand-held, run and gun a few weeks back with the A7s - 18-200 combo:

I just bought a Sony A6300 and have used the 16-50 mm standard lens quite a lot in the last 2 weeks. The A6300 is amazing for video. (and the rolling shutter ain't that bad, unless you do fast pans all the time) This is actually a very nice lens, sharp, small and handy. The Bionz processor will correct for the barrel distortion when you shoot JPG or video. It will only be in the RAW still image that you will see distortion. The sony Raw image tools, would correct this distortion by software when you load the raw still image. So in other words, for video, the distortion is no problem. It is taken care of.

cheers,
Erwin
