My first client asked that I open a youtube account for them. I mistakingly opened it under my name. I uploaded around 2 dozen videos for them and they have been linking them to display on their website. It's been a few years now and they are no longer my client. I gave them all of the video files but the website is still linked to my youtube channel. If I delete or move the video, their website will be missing all of it's videos.

I've tried to change the name of my youtube channel but it doesn't seem possible.

My question is: should I be receiving payment for retaining their videos on my youtube channel?

Should I try and change the Youtube channel name or ask the client to create their own channel?

I would co-ordinate with their web developer to move all of their videos to a new YouTube channel under their name. ( you might even suggest having their web developer do the new uploads, so all you will have to do is delete their old videos from your channel )

I'm with Guy, but I would add you are dumping their videos by (insert date). Then call to make sure they understand. Don't assume an email will cut it. Be firm, stand your ground, and you can do it without being a terd - you got this.

I checked so I believe you are correct in saying that you cannot change your YouTube channel name. I say this because when trying to change mine, just to check, it said this action is unavailable.

It would be easier if they created their own youtube channel and uploaded the videos themselves since you now need a Google account to do so. Do you know if they have a youtube channel? Maybe they are under the impression that the videos are on their channel and not yours.

Either way, before you do anything, I would reach out to the past client and let them know your issue so you can then go forward with a solution.

Your client suggested a very good idea and I know because we are also making Construction Business Plans for our clients. We always use the things in our plans which you shared in your post.
