Canon T3 list of problems.

Ok so I've been shooting on a Canon T3 for some time now and recently come upon an issue where if i'm in video mode and switch to any photo mode no matter what I do, the shutter will not go up. If you switch to live view nothing will happen if your taking a shot nothing will happen. I have tried with 2 different lenses in auto and manual focus but my lenses are also having issues. neither of the lenses will go above the lowest aperture for that focal length or I will get an error about the communication between the lens and the camera faulty. I'm thinking it may be something to do with just being old and out of date considering I have 10,000 shots on that camera, would repairs be worth it? Thanks.

I would get an estimate on the cost of repairing the camera, and then compare the price to what it would cost to buy a used Canon T3 or T3i in good shape. Sometimes it's worth repairing and sometimes it's not.

Like Guy said, if the repair cost comes anywhere near the price of a second hand one, buy another one.

Even if it's unlikely that the two lenses have the same issue, I would also test the lenses on an other camera, I had a similar issue it was the lense that was faulty.
