Cheap 4K Monitor for Professional Color Grading/Correction?

Does anyone have any recommendations for color grading monitors?

What specs are necessary for accurate color reproduction at 4k resolution?

I don't want to spend over $500.

I don't think anybody makes a 4K monitor priced at $500 right now, but they might in about 2-3 years. ( 4K HDR TV sets should help to bring down 4K monitor prices )

I'd need more information about your goals and equipment you already have to drive it, but I'd put the 4K resolution as the last of the necessities, even Davinci Resolve is optimized for 2560x1440 and you can easily grade a 4K project on a HD monitor, just zoom it to 100% for noise reduction etc. If it's for grading, I'd be more concerned about other things. I'm guessing you're not ready for 10-bit yet, but a decent 8-bit monitor is acceptable too, if well calibrated.
