Discussions vs. Questions -- is the difference confusing?

Now that the site has been up a few days and we have a few thousand users -- which is awesome! -- I want to check in and ask about discussions vs. questions.

Our intent is to make sure that filmmakers are helping each other and answering questions is a key part of that. But is it confusing?
Should there be a difference?
Is the different design for answers vs. replies at all useful?
If we keep both types, should we just list them all in the same place instead of silo-ing them from each other?

Let me know your thoughts!

Thanks for listening to your users! There is definitely something confusing about all the different terminology.... boards, discussions, questions. Not that it's bad or wrong, Adobe Communities follows a similar sort of thing for example, but I am more used to simply "forums", simplicity trumps features when it comes to this sort of thing imho.

Also, I think the default sorting method should be "newest". For example, to most people this question will be buried at the bottom (if I got it right).

I have found it a little confusing. I do like the look of the answers vs. replies, but I wish there were a way to reply to a reply, so that you could have a conversation in response to an answer. Don’t know if I’ve seen many discussions, to be honest, so I’m not sure I know what it looks like.

I found the different categories confusing. I think one integrated list for all discussions. A question mark will indicate a question!

I like it, I love being able to quickly check out the questions section and help provide answers and help out people with problems or advice. Then when I have sometime or I am interested in learning about something more I can check out the discussions board. Really like the set up! I also agree with David about the default sort order should be "newest" or have it as a profile setting option! Thanks for the new wicked board and site!

I agree with Harry - and to add to it, don't most discussions start with a question?
