Hacked GH1 in 2015?
I'm mainly a writer/director, and rarely get behind the camera, but I'm interested in buying a camera to shoot short narrative films and increase my practical knowledge of cinematography in order to become a better director.
I don't have much money. I was thinking of buying a Panasonic GH1 and Nikkor Manual 50mm f/1.2 lens + adapter for a total of around $220 and seeing what I can do.
Is the camera too obsolete to make beautiful/relevant work? Is it a waste of time/money to make images when I should be writing?
My other idea was the Canon EOS M. It seems too small for my hands, but it does appeal to my guerrilla-filmmaking feels.
