how do you manage your research bits and pieces prior to scriptwriting?

hi all!
i have a documentary slated for next year and already heaps of content junks i've been collecting over the past months for the actual script. currently i feel a little overwhelmed by this unstructured pile. before i sit down and go manually through the elements i just wanted to know if there is some useful software out there which can help structure and prepare the scriptwriting process? any ideas ? how do you work? thank you

Have you looked at Scrivener at all? It's relatively cheap and you can outline everything in it.

I'm more of an old-school writer. I collect all ideas and jot them down on my notebook. I make maps with them connecting the different ideas with one another and then form the narrative structure out of it. This one really works for me because I want to be able to physically interact with my ideas to make a structure out of it.
