How Does The Filming Community View Fan Films

I actually have a story arc and idea for one of my favorite characters. Of course I have my own original stories to tell. But I figured a fan film would be a great way to build a fanbase right? Opinions?

As long as you're ok not making any money with your fan film, then go for it. Legally you could be sued for copyright infringement if you try and sell your fan film.

One of my favorite fan films is Kevin Rubio's "TROOPS" Star Wars fan film made way back in 1997. Amazing that they were able to pull this off in 1997.

Of course not. Im doing it for the love of this character , for entertainment purposes and more importantly for the fans of not only this character but for the entire universe this character lives in. I have an entire plot for him and personally I think everyone would love it. Besides.....I think it would put a great star on my portfolio
