Mansfield Holiday Super 8mm Camera

I just got a Mansfield Holiday Cinepar I-EE from a friend, and I'd love to try it out for fun on my next shoot. I've been checking out different film stocks online, but as I've never really shot on film, I'm looking for any advice on which kind of film to get, and possibly also where its easy to get it from.

So if anyone has any advice on this I'd appreciate it!

That's a reel-to-reel 8mm camera (aka. standard 8mm) I believe. You would be much better off finding a "Super 8mm" camera (they're cheap) because the film and processing is much easier to find with more options. Also, Super 8 is preloaded into a cartridge so no need to deal with standard 8's loading spools.

In short, using standard 8mm would be a gigantic, expensive headache… while using Super 8 is just a moderate sized, expensive headache. In the US, pro8mm.com is a very reputable place.

Hey, yeah I figured out that its a normal 8mm. I got it from a friend so I might as well try it, I'll come back and post the video if I make it work :D

Thanks though!

Hey Sebastian... did you ever use your camera? I just got one... wondering what your experience was like.
