Hi no film school fam!
I was wondering if y’all knew where to apply, how to get, or people to talk to to get small amount of funding for music videos? I’m thinking like 1k-2k perhaps between multiple sources? Are there ways to reach out to funders for that little amount? I want to be doing musical content on a consistent basis so don’t want to be asking my friends for Kickstarter money every time... let me know if y’all have any ideas!! #asknofilmschool Thanks!!

Usually, to find investments on a small project like the one your discussing you'll need something to give back to the source donating money (at least in my experience)
People will either want you to shoot something for them or they'll want advertising time in the video (maybe a screen card at the start or finish of the video)
Or you can try to crowd fund it, sure.
The trick with all of this is - Why - Why would people want to invest in you? There is no real answer for anyone to invest in a stranger other than 'That project looks interesting, I'd like to see it'

No real advice to give you, but if you're just starting out, I think it's a little on the cheeky side to ask for money, maybe make the money yourself, produce some content that looks good, so as to say 'here's what I've done on my own, it's great, with your help I can make things which're even better'

Thank you!! This is super helpful--will have samples to show them my work and ways to incorporate their products for sponsorship. And the framing to the question is a really good way to think about it (the "why would people want to invest in it?"). Thanks again!
