shooting my very first short..and I dont know anything!

Hallo nofilmschool team,

..i have a t3i for more than a year and I didn't shoot anything with it. I have the kit lense and the 50mm 1.8.
In 2 weeks I'm going to go and shoot a short horror film with a lot of improvisation. The thing is I don't know how to shoot with the Dslr, don't know how to edit, which sound kit to buy?

Can you recommend videos to learn how to shoot with t3i and tutorial for FCPX.
Also shall I get the rode video mic or zoom h4n as I need a simple cheap setup for now.
I just wanna start and stop talking about it.

Thanks

In january 2015 you posted that you wanted to start.
Apparently you got stopped by something.

The true secret of getting started is DOING.
So stop dreaming, get out of the house and start shooting, if you haven't made that short yet.
