Small Filmmaker Advice

First time posting here,
I’m a small filmmaker and I have a YouTube channel. I mainly make videos on how to’s and short films. I use to make travel videos but I feel like that’s not the path where I want to go anymore. Short films is where I want to go. I feel like I’m progressing slow and I should be progressing faster. I think my number one problem is finding actors to film. I feel like I don’t have a lot of experience in filming people. I have friends and have filmed them before but I don’t like asking them all the time. Does anyone have any advice on how to find actors. People who are motivated and willing to act for free?

Here’s the link to one of my videos.

Try and find local filmmaking Facebook groups. Post casting calls on them and you'll be able to find local actors to be in your films.

Getting in touch with acting students is also a good route, by working with them, you can help them and they can help you!

Thanks for your comment. I’ll try doing that. How do I get in touch with students? I feel like it’s kind of awkward to just randomly go into a school and post flyers or ask them personally. Also, if they look at my portfolio and they see I’m just an amateur. I am not sure if they would take me seriously.
