Sony A7s vs. Sony FS100

Hey all! So, quick question. From a pure image and features standpoint, I am beginning to think that the Sony A7s could actually be considered an upgrade from the Sony Fs100. What are your guys thoughts on this?
Form factor or "DSLR vs. Cinema Camera" aside, the A7s seems to do everything the Fs100 does, and a little more...but better. Minus audio. The image seems to be a bit better, too.
I am looking for a little more than my current FS100, but price wise do not want to get into that 4, 5 grand range. A7s with a solid cage, battery solution and audio ad on seems like an extremely great set up that really beats out the fs100. Also the option to go 4k if needed doesn't hurt. What do you all think?

Yes, the A7S is a fairly big upgrade from the FS100, with and external 4K recorder being another big upgrade later on.

Apart from the audio, the only other area where the FS100 pulls slightly ahead is rolling-shutter, but this normally not a big problem.

Thanks Guy! I see you contributing to so many posts on here...much appreciated. I'm beginning to think the same thing. FS100 is such a strong camera, and it always seems a bit awkward to compare a "DSLR" to a "Cinema Camera," but at the end of the day they both process a digital image inside a box, haha. Seems like the A7s just does it better!

I always have time when I'm rendering edited footage, so this is one of my "keep busy" things to do while I wait for my renders to finish...

The FS100 is an excellent camera, but new camera sensor technology is changing things in a big way, so it's hard to compete with a new camera that has 13 F-stops of dynamic range, can record a 4K image, and uses newer video CODECs. ( the good thing is that a used FS100 is going to sell for the same price as a new mid-level DSLR, so there will be lots a great bargains with used gear for years to come )

Hi there,
I agree with Sony A7s for what it gives. Of course it cannot replace a Sony FS100 but with less budget to spend I would prefer go for new technology with some sacrifices. Like recording video on external recorder for better image quality one can also use external audio recorders for the sound too.
It also depends what one is shooting and where the final movie will land up for viewing.
I use Nikon D7000 + Zoom H2n + Lavs + Shotguns for most of my video works. Am looking at Sony A7s for my next upgrade.
